Fire fighters, who were called to a condominium to check on a tenant, destroyed the wood entry door. The tenant was OK, but he wanted a new door--fast!
The building management company sent their carpenter to the building to measure the badly damaged door. It was not a “standard” size. The carpenter called Anderson Lock.
New wood machining equipment and a huge stock of wood slab doors, meant that he could go to our Door Division, at 920 Remington Road in Schaumburg, IL, order a custom size door and either wait while it was cut to his specifications, or go out for lunch at one of the many Woodfield area restaurants, then return, load the door into his truck, take it back to the building, and hang it.
Anderson Lock also provides emergency service for total opening replacement. Break-ins are usually discovered in early morning hours. Our technicians measure the opening, determine which hardware needs to be replaced, and return a few hours later with a new door, frame, hinges, threshold, lock, and related hardware. The building is secured by the end of the day.
Devin Wascher, Door Division Manager, says that fast turnaround times for all doors--hollow metal and wood-- “have been a big part of the success of the Door Division.”
Anderson Lock has cut keys “while customers wait” since 1960. In reality, however, most keys are cut for service work, or for large key systems. Similarly, the majority of our door orders are for multiple openings, and cannot be completed “while you wait.” Still, in an emergency, a single door can be fit into the day’s schedule to secure an opening. Also, many standard size doors are in stock and can be picked up at the convenient loading dock.
