Anderson Lock sells and installs a wide range of video surveillance systems. From simple one camera systems to large indoor / outdoor security installations, we have solutions for every type of business. Many systems come with remote monitoring, so you can view your business live from any computer with an internet connection. You can also review recorded video from the past few days or weeks, depending on the system.
Anderson Lock supplies every type of security camera, from bullet eye to dome, PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) to night vision, hidden to outdoor. You can mix and match cameras to provide the exact setup you need. Our experienced technicians provide complete setup, installation and training.
· Bullet Camera. A type of video camera often used in surveillance systems, named because of its shape and size. Bullet cameras are small (2 to 4.5 inches long) and are limited to a fixed focal length lens. Bullet cameras are good for use in smaller spaces.
· Dome Camera. A type of camera with a dome-like shape. Most often used indoors. Some feature infrared lighting and some are designed to be tamper-proof, or vandal resistant.
· PTZ. Pan, tilt, zoom cameras allow you to adjust to position ('pan' is side-to-side, 'tilt' is up and down, and 'zoom' is focus) of the camera, using a remote controller.
· Infrared Cameras. Infrared Security Cameras have special infrared lights installed around the outside of the camera lens. Through use of this special light, the camera can capture a good picture, even in total darkness.
· Day / Night Cameras. Not to be confused with Infrared Cameras, "Day / Night Cameras" are regular cameras with a highly sensitive CCD chip with the ability to capture quality imagery with very little light present.
· Covert. A covert application refers to a situation where you don't want the person to know that they are being watched or recorded. Also known as 'hidden' cameras.
· Outdoor Cameras. Outdoor cameras come in special weatherproof housings that allow them to stand up well in tough weather and temperature conditions.
· Motion Detection. A feature in some DVRs to only begin recording video if something in the image moves or changes. Good for monitoring an area that doesn't have a lot of traffic, thus saving a lot of hard drive space.
· Wireless Camera. Wireless cameras allow the transmission of video data to a receiver without having to run wires (using radio waves). Most wireless cameras still require low voltage power at the camera.
· Remote Surveillance. The ability to view your cameras from a remote location. Information is transmitted via Internet. Newer technology systems allow transmission to smart phones.
· IP Cameras and Network DVR's. Internet Protocol Address is a unique address given to certain computer or electronic devices. An IP address is necessary for devices to identify and communicate with each other. An IP address is required for positive unique identification of any device on a network or the internet. IP cameras are becoming more popular and typically require an available address for each camera.
· Resolution. Refers to how much detail can be captured on a camera or displayed on a monitor. Cameras typically capture about 380 horizontal lines of resolution. High resolution cameras may capture up to 540 lines of resolution or more. The higher the resolution, the more detail that can be captured in a picture. The monitors and recording devices can generally handle at least as much resolution as the cameras can capture.
Increasing demand for CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television, the use of video cameras to transmit a signal to a specific place, on a limited set of monitors) and access control systems resulted in the recent addition of a scissor lift to Anderson Lock’s equipment assets. The scissor lift has a 26-foot platform height, with a 32-foot working height, ideal for installations of security cameras, which are positioned from 10 to 30-feet from the ground. It is narrow enough to fit through the average commercial building door, and will be used for both interior and exterior installations.
