DOOR CLOSER ORDERING INFORMATION

   "When a customer calls to order a door closer, the first thing we need to know is if it's for an interior or exterior door. Our most popular closer, the LCN 4041, is also the most adjustable and most adaptable. It's a heavy-duty, full-size closer with power and speed adjustments.  When it's mounted and adjusted properly, it will last a long time, and so will the other hardware that's on the door."

Drop plates and spacers allow closers to be installed in a variety of retrofit applications.

There are three mounting applications: regular arm, top jamb and parallel arm:

 

Regular arm refers to the closer being mounted on the pull side of the door. The arm is attached to the door frame face. This application is generally used on interior doors.

Top jamb refers to mounting on the frame face above the door on the push side of the door The arm is attached to the top of the door (top rail.) This is generally used on doors with a narrow top rail, like glass aluminum "storefront" doors.

Parallel arm mounting is on the push side of the door. The arm is parallel to the door, therefore able to endure mischievous abuse. This mounting is generally used where aesthetics are important and for locations where ceilings are flush with the doorway.
