SERVICE HELP WANTED
Outside Service Lock Technician / Locksmith
We are seeking an experienced lock technician with knowledge of locks, keying systems and door hardware. Duties include servicing and installing locks and door hardware, re-keying and repairing for residential and commercial accounts. Must be a self-starter with strong troubleshooting skills. Earn $15 - $24 / hour, depending on experience. This is a permanent, 40+ hour week, full-time position, with occasional evening and weekend work required.
Technical Requirements:
• Identify key blanks and keyways, re-key locks, including high security locks
(i.e. Medeco, Primus, interchangeable core)
• Cut keys by code, as well as duplicate keys.
• Knowledge of power and hand tools, such as:
power drill, sawsall, grinder, router, circular saw, screwdriver, wrenches,
taps, files, pliers, wood chisels, hammer
• Experience with exit alarms, panic exit devices, and related door hardware
• Basic electricity knowledge and desk lock repair is a plus
Other Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of locksmith experience
• Must be at least 18 with an excellent driving record
• Must be able to obtain Permanent Employee Registration Card [P.E.R.C.] in Illinois
• Good people skills required for contact with external and internal customers
• Computer accuracy needed for service order entry
