Broom and mop handles used to prop open doors, while janitorial crews clean, cause more interior door frame failures in hospitals and schools than anything else, according to Anderson Lock’s Sales Manager, Jim Walsh. Over time, the handles dent the frames, bend the hinge brackets, and sometimes even break the welds in metal frames. Another common cause of frame failure is repeated impact from carts, or other equipment. On exterior door frames, corrosion, impact from cars or equipment, and, damage from break-ins are Common Frame Failure Culprits.
Upgrading door openings in institutional and commercial buildings requires a wide variety of frame sizes, gauges and styles to match all the different architectural wall and door types.
