Know Your Locksmith Before You Need One
Phony locksmiths (including one that claimed to be on Oakton Street in Des Plaines) flood phone books and online listings with fake addresses to appear as legitimate businesses. Customer’s calls are forwarded to “call centers” that are often in another state. These scammers arrive in unmarked vehicles, may not be licensed, will charge far more than estimated, and only accept cash.
Anderson Lock technicians will always arrive in a red service truck, will always be wearing a company uniform, and will be able to show a P.E.R.C. (Permanent Employee Registration Card) issued by the State of Illinois.
