Cortney Anderson WascherCortney Anderson Wascher, President / Owner of Anderson Lock, was recently chosen to be President Elect of DHI’s 2022-2023 Board of Governors.

DHI, the Door and Hardware Institute, serves door security and safety professionals, and the companies they represent, in the non-residential construction industry. Through education, advocacy, accreditation and facilitated networking, the association provides members with tools to meet their customers’  security and safety needs.

An example of DHI advocacy is its leadership of a coalition supporting a federal clearinghouse on school safety best practices. Recently, a letter from the coalition was sent to a group of U.S. Senators charged with negotiating a bipartisan school safety package, urging them to include the Luke and Alex School Safety Act in any federal school safety legislation. The bill would codify an existing federal clearinghouse of school safety best practices and resources provided at SchoolSafety.gov., bolstering its work and ensuring it continues to grow and improve. DHI was joined by five other organizations including the Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS), the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA), the Security Industry Association (SIA), ASIS International – School Safety and Security Community, and the Door Security and Safety Foundation (DSSF).

Advocacy represents just one facet of DHI’s initiatives. Education, both in-person and online, is another important part of DHI’s value for members.

ANDERSON LOCK takes great pride in Cortney’s leadership in this significant, influential and crucial-to-our-industry organization.
