Door frames don’t get the respect they deserve. Once they are securely installed in an opening, they fade into the background, providing security, strength, support and straight edges for doors, hinges and locking hardware.
Nevertheless, people walk right past them, right through them! Folks might say, “Great looking door!” But who notices the frame?
“You don’t buy a Picasso because you love the frame,” wrote screenwriter Joss Whedon. Film director Otto Preminger echoed the same sentiment, saying, “What counts isn’t the frame, it’s what you put in it.”
But our door technicians understand the importance of door frames, even if frames aren’t the focus of a finished opening. Rusty, dented door frames are a security risk. Often our service techs are called upon to “fix a lock” when the lock doesn’t need repair. If a door and /or frame are out of alignment, the lock bolt won’t properly engage in the strike.
Accurate angles, materials and measurements, reinforcements and welds (with smooth surfaces) can be taken for granted in Anderson Lock’s made-to-order metal frames. Our new Door Division features five welding / fabricating stations plus a huge variety of frame components for masonry or drywall installations.
