Anderson Lock proudly hosted our 5th Annual TEAM GENE Mini-Walk on June 12th, raising over an incredible $45,000 to support ALS research, care, and advocacy. This year’s walk brought together over a hundred supporters – including employees, family members, friends, vendors, and customers – united by a shared commitment to unlock the cure for ALS.
Wearing bright red TEAM GENE T-shirts and full of purpose, walkers completed nearly two miles in honor of our founder, Gene Anderson, whose legacy continues to inspire us. Despite losing his battle with ALS two years ago, Gene’s strength, humor, and compassion were felt throughout the event – especially in the joyful moments shared between generations of Anderson Lock supporters who came together to make a difference.
Since the first walk, TEAM GENE has raised over $210,000 to fight ALS.
The event’s welcoming atmosphere was made even more special with taco dinners sponsored by Allegion, live raffles, and community camaraderie under the summer sky. ALS United Greater Chicago once again partnered with us to help organize this impactful day – we are grateful for their ongoing support.
Cortney Anderson Wascher, President / Owner of Anderson Lock, reflected on the milestone:
“It’s hard to believe this is already our fifth walk. The love, generosity, and dedication of our team and supporters are what keep Gene’s legacy alive. Every donation, every step, every kind word—it all adds up to something bigger. And I know Dad is smiling down on all of us, proud of what we’ve built together.”
Special thanks to Allegion US, S.D. Walker Company, and everyone who donated or participated. Your contributions are helping change lives and bring hope to families currently facing ALS.
Gene Anderson founded Anderson Lock in 1960. As a visionary entrepreneur, he built his company on integrity, hard work, and deep care for his people and customers. Today, that same spirit continues to lead us – on the job and on the walk.
Together, we are walking to unlock a cure.
