Overview

Anderson Lock supplied doors, frames, and hardware, as well as keying for the new, 5-story bed tower at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL. Luisa Casale, A.H.C., managed the project, which required organization, coordination and follow-through.

She says, “This was a very large project that had to be furnished in 10 phases, over 1-1/2 years. Purchasing was also done in phases. I received daily emails with changes to the project. There were many jobsite visits, some of which included me going there and checking in all the hardware with the contractor. At the end of this project we had to do a presentation for hardware installation, and also supply a video.”

The frames were all Steelcraft (F series). The wood doors were all Acrovyn type (Illinois Construction Specialties #383 Vintage Walnut). There were some Steelcraft Steel Stiffened type (B series) hollow metal doors. All private, state-of-the-art patient rooms had Glynn Johnson HL-6 hospital latches. The balance of openings had either locksets (Schlage ND series) or exit devices (Von Duprin 99 series). All the closers were surface mounted LCN 4040 Series.

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is a long-term customer. In addition to this new bed tower, Anderson Lock also supplied doors, frames, and pre-installed hardware for the hospitals’ one-story Cancer Center, as well as doors, frames and hardware for Good Sam’s Cardio Physicians, Cardiology Offices, Cardiology Remodel, Neurology Clinic, Surgery Waiting Phase I & II, and the Hyperbaric Chamber projects.
