Listening to Randy Leonard talk with callers from throughout the Midwest about door closer valves, mortise lock bodies, WUNK, UNHK and VUNK keyways (really!), it is easy to understand how Anderson Lock earned our reputation as “more than a source for security door hardware.” We are a highly respected “resource for expert technical knowledge.”

Randy’s 40 years of experience comes through his voice as he confidently and calmly explains how to replace an electric strike, hang a door closer, or understand the intricacies of master key systems.

In 1977, Randy, Employee #16, joined Anderson Lock through Maine West High School’s Work Program. He started his career here handling Shipping & Receiving. Next, he learned locksmithing at the front counter. Before long, this friendly, skilled lock tech was dispatched to hospitals, schools and commercial buildings. However, the publication of Anderson Lock’s door hardware and security product catalogs resulted in Randy’s return to the office to answer phones, guiding customers’ selections of lock designs, functions, finishes, and a whole lot more.

Now, as a seasoned Hardware Sales Representative, Randy spends part of his time on site visits to healthcare and educational facilities. A long list of customers rely on his expertise and guidance.

To commemorate his 40-year anniversary, Anderson Lock honored Randy with a Gift Certificate which could be used for a weekend away, tickets to a play, or to a sporting event. He chose a Cowboys football game in Dallas, with three of his daughters. “One of my bucket list items with my oldest daughter was to go to Dallas and see a Cowboys game,” Randy noted. They rounded out the trip with a visit to Magnolia for the others.
