Fax Overload Sets Off Motion Detector!

Ladies and gentlemen: the story you are about to hear is true. The names have not even been changed to protect the innocent.

A 138-page Order Acknowledgement, for the lock cylinders that Jim Didier ordered for a new Master Key System for Rush Presbyterian Medical Center, was too much for our security system.

An alarm was triggered at 9:30 p.m., Friday night. Des Plaines Police were dispatched.

Office Manager Laura Miller quickly traveled from home to Anderson Lock. An investigation showed no signs of anyone breaking into or entering the building No evidence of intruders, just a lot of paper scattered around everywhere.

Laura was reassured (not by Sergeant Joe Friday), that it was nothing to worry about. It was “just the fax, ma’am.”
