Manuel installs a Baldwin Entry Lock

Not all of Anderson Lock’s 80 full and part time employees are locksmiths (me, for example!) but the majority are, so on Labor Day 2013 let’s salute the traditional trade of locksmithing.

Today’s lock techs must learn to install and rekey hundreds of different kinds of locks. Our skillful, experienced lock techs also replace total openings, including commercial doors, frames, and all related security door hardware products, like hinges, door closers, electronic door controls, electric strikes, exit devices, thresholds, and weatherstripping.

Although Anderson Lock specializes in the design, installation and management of keying and key control systems, more and more, we serve as security consultants, determining the level of risk to an individual or institution, then recommending and installing appropriate combinations of products and policies. We install systems that include surveillance cameras and web-based locking systems. Anderson Lock also assists facility owners in complying with building and fire codes. Our professionals will certify that swinging fire doors will operate properly when the need arises. The fitting and replacement of keys remains an important part of locksmithing, but our locksmiths’ knowledge goes way beyond cutting keys and pinning cylinders.

Since 1894, Americans have observed Labor Day on the first Monday in September. Anderson Lock Will be Closed in honor of this holiday that celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers.

Happy Labor Day to all!
