Naperville Named Among Top Places in Nation to Live and Raise Children

Naperville, in DuPage and Will Counties, approximately 30 miles west of Chicago, is a vibrant, thriving city that consistently ranks as a top community in the nation in which to live, raise children and retire. Once a quaint farming town, Naperville has evolved into an affluent, educated city, which is home to numerous corporate headquarters. There are more than 75 colleges, universities and professional schools within 30 miles.

College of DuPage, is one of the largest community colleges in the nation with over 40,000 students. 'COD', as it is known locally, has long been a customer of Anderson Lock. Other nearby colleges are also our customers, including the well-known Wheaton College, in Wheaton, IL.

The Riverwalk, the "crown jewel" of Naperville, is overseen and maintained by the Naperville Park District, another Anderson Lock customer for locksmith and door repair and replacement services.

The Riverwalk was built and dedicated in 1981 as a celebration of Naperville’s 150th anniversary. Embraced as a gathering place, it has become a focal point of the community, drawing visitors from far and wide to take in its beauty; it is recognized as one of the most picturesque spots in the Midwest. Its covered bridges, fountains, lush landscaping and distinctive shepherd’s crook light poles aptly tie Naperville’s historic past as the oldest settlement in DuPage County to the city’s present.

Anderson Lock has provided locksmith, master key and door security services for many tenants of the 10-story office building at 55 Shuman Boulevard. Designed by the award-winning Chicago architect Helmut Jahn in 1986, and known for its unique sloping facade that resembles the letter N, it is regarded by many passing motorists along the East-West Tollway as an unofficial insignia for the city of Naperville.

Naperville, and adjacent communities, are the heart of the Illinois Research and Technology Corridor, also known as the Silicon Prairie - home to several Fortune 500 and leading companies including Laidlaw International, Molex, Navistar, Servicemaster, OfficeMax, numerous high tech companies, as well as major world renowned research facilities including  BP Amoco, Nicor, and nearby Argonne National Laboratories and Fermi-lab National Accelerator.
